Dana Nummerdor is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Certified School Counselor. She graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2001 with a Master of Arts degree in Psychology. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Kennesaw State University with a double major in Psychology and Biology, and also has graduate coursework in Behavioral Neurobiology. Dana’s training has been in Humanistic, Existential, Psychodynamic, Educational psychology, and Cognitive-Behavioral approaches to therapy. She has experience working with life-phase transitions, mood and anxiety disorders, issues of childhood and adolescence, grief, spirituality, personality disorders, and life-coaching.
Dana has worked as a Counselor and Psychotherapist in private practice and in the school system. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. Dana has been certified as a School Counselor since 2004, and has helped children and parents with behavior and academic issues.
Dana believes that creating an open and accepting therapeutic environment is important in helping clients explore how they relate to their world. She enjoys working with clients to help them find ways to cope with life, with the intent to reduce suffering, enjoy the present moment, and find contentment. Dana has spent many years exploring Eastern approaches to psychotherapy, with a particular focus on finding ways to help individuals enhance their psychological and spiritual growth through mindfulness and conscious action.
